I'm getting ready to replace the "grape juice" in the rear differential. Since dealers want too much I was going to order from gmpartsdirect.com. From my understanding it is part number 12378261. What I am not sure of is how many ounces are in each bottle. Some have said 23oz and some have said 32oz. Anyone know for sure?

For those that have done a fluid change, does it take a full 4 quarts to fill level with the fill hole, or how much did it take? This stuff is too expensive to have almost full jugs sitting around in the garage.

Thanks in advance,

Larry

Burner,

Thanks. Yea, I know about Eric's site. Unfortunatly every time I go there it's down for maintenance plus I needed to order some other things from gmpartsdirect.com.

I cant decide how many bottles to order. If it's 32oz per bottle it's simple, I order 4 and move on. If it's 23oz per bottle do I order 5 and run a bit low or order 6 and have half a bottle sitting in my garage for the next 5 years. Decisions, decisions, decisions, I'm not as fast to throw money away as I use to be.

Thanks

Larry,

Even the wealthest man on the planet will tell you, "just a little more" every time. I think it's 4 quarts rear and 2 + in the front. However, shipping is where ya killed @ gmparts direct so why don't you get everything you can from Eric and the rest from gmparts direct?

Larry, unfortunatly, store is giving us many fits. It is shut down now as we are doing a complete change over. Old store wouldnt let AOL users in, I was loosing orders, pricing structure/shipping was skewed and many other problems, I know it looks bad with it being down all the time, but its mostly my fault for rushing it in. I can asure you that the new setup is much better on the customer end and my end. I can get anything you need from GM parts direct, they will be cheaper on initial cost but I think after shipping is figgured in , we will be close, you can PM the part no's your after and I will quote you on them. As far as the Grape Juice goes, it comes in qt bottles. Thanks for understanding and for all who have purchased. Hopefully shopping experience will be much better soon.

Larry,

Have you ever gotten anything from gmpartsdirect?

I ask because I wanted the under seat storage for my EC and the dealer said that the price was less than he could buy it for.

So I went to the site tonight to order the box, freight is 20% of the purchase price. All of a sudden, gmpartsdirect was more money than the local dealer....

Eric's had some really good prices on this stuff, I think that's the way to go...

Zeeb,

Yea, I ordered the molded splash guards from them. Shipping can be a bit much, but they were still cheaper than dealer.

Eric says he can get any GM part you need. Might try sending him a PM for quote.

The part number 12378261 is the right part # for the GM synthetic Axle Lube. I ordered fro gmpartsdirect amd the bottles I received were 32 oz bottles. I ordered 4 and it filled up to a 1/2 " from the bottom of the hole. This is cold. From what was explained to me by the dealer that is the right level for cold fluid. When hot, it will come up to the bottom of the hole.
