Ok I'll try one more time. It seems everyone that I talk to doesn't know. Can I run 37" BFG Muds with a 6" Pro Comp lift with out any problems other than the tie-rods going out? I'll be using a 17x10" wheel with 4.5" backspacing. Thanks in advance.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Also the front bumper will be replaced with a Ranch Hand.

I was at 4 wheel parts today 2-3-2004 and they told me if I wanted to run 35's on a 6" lift I would have to keep my tortion bars all the way up. I do not know but I bet it would look good if you can. I would think with a ranch hand on there it would be easier than without. Edited by: noproblem

I would say no but replacing the bumper will help. Since I plan on adding a lift when mine arrives. I called CST and asked about their 6"-8" kit. They said I could run 37's with no problem, but would have to trim the plastic below the bumper.

Just my .02 cents

Thanks guys. Any info I get helps. What do you think about the wheels and backspacing? Think the tires will stick out too much?

I do not think they will stick out too much. I have the same back space in my wheel. So they say anyway. My problem is the front sticking out 1 1/2 further than the back. I can add a spacer for the back to match but it is not recommended.Edited by: noproblem

4.5 is what I was told to use. I plan on running the same 10x17 with 4.5 backspacing.

Why is it "not recommended" ?

might run into some clearance issues with the rear sheet metal with that wide a wheel. fromt will be no problem. do you 4 wheel or is this mainly looks ?

The sales man did not say why. I was under the impression he could get himself into hot water for recommending it by the way he looked at me when I asked the question. I was thinking it was a safety issue or a chance of damaging something else. I will call the fella wed to get some answers and post it p.m. 2-04-04. He was saying I could not do it but nodding his head to indicate that I could. Maybe his boss was around.

Are you sure you want 4.5" backspacing with a 10" wide wheel? That's a normal number for a 8" wide wheel but seems like it would stick out rather far on a 10" wide wheel.

37s can be run on a 6" lift but there are a few varibles. First no matter what lift you run you'll have to crank the torsion bars to 8" or use the Green keys to get the extra lift. Reason I mention this is there are 2 types, true 6" lift and others that use replacement spindles. In your case DuramaxDiesel Pro Comp offers both styles. 37s will be okay on a true 6" lift but I would not run then on a lift that uses replacement spindles. If you do there will a 4" difference between differential and CV which will almost always cause problems. If you plan on running 12.5" wide tires I would recommend a 17x8 wheel with the same backspacing. As far as replacing the front bumper this works for and against you. Yes the bumper will give you added clearance for the front tires but 9 time out of 10 the problem is behind the front tires. The added weight of the Road Armor may bring the front end down a little even after cranking the torsion bars.

the road armor bumper on my truck weighs in at around 155lbs, versus ~210ish with a ranchhand. i measured before and after and it moved about a quarter inch. the clearance gained is more than 3 inches high on the wheel well and more as it tapers lower.

With my 6" RCD lift I have 315's on 16x8 wheels with a 4.5" backspace. With the spindle lift you are limited on the backspace because of clearence on the upper part of the spindle. I had to trim the front part of the lower bumper and a little off my mudflaps but very little. With a 10" rim you will have a little more work . With a 17" rim you may be able to get more backspace but with 10" rim and 4.5" BS your wheels will stick out pretty fsr.

Instead of a ProComp 6" lift why don't you just get a 8" lift? I drop Mine off on Monday to have an 8" Fabtech lift installed.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I was looking at the 8" Fabtech but have seen two trucks running it and both had track width problems. The front tires on both trucks sticked out roughly 2" farther than the back. The owners of the trucks were there complaining at the shop when I put the order in for my Pro Comp.

Hope you have better results.
