I was at the dealer trying to order a GMC 3500 with LBZ, went through the whole order process and the dealer was not able to enter the order. The price for the LBZ engine did not come up which is not a problem for me as I know about what it will cost. Dealer says that since the engine is restrained the order will not take. He is going to call the factory on Monday. Has anyone ran into this problem??

Since I need to take deliver this year I am running out of time on the build. What is the average build time if I do work out the order this week? Thanks for your help

Were you trying to order a manual transmission? I have heard that you can't order an LBZ with a manual gearbox.

If you werent then  I dunno. Good luck with it though, I'm kinda jealous what little I've heard of the LBZ is all good.

Try a different dealer.
The first dealer I went to gave me the same sort of response. They told me they'd get in touch w/ me when they could place the order....even got the line "we haven't received a single '06 yet and none coming"

Did a search for 06's in my area and found a dealer with a boat load on the lot. Went to them for the order...I'll be getting mine first week of Nov (I hope).

I STILL haven't heard from the first dealer.

I think it has something to do with dealer allocation...you should shop around a bit more.

Very true. When I was going to order my truck, the first place I went to was a pure retail dealer, they wouldn't even talk to me about ordering, all they wanted to talk about was adding aftermarket to trucks they already had on the lot. Finally went to a true fleet dealer, all the difference in the world, the guy actually knew what he was talking about. The experience went from I don't think I want to buy a truck again, to gee I wish I could buy a new truck every year.

Well except for paying for it.
