I heard someone on another site, totally unrelated, its a dirt bike forum. Anyways, some body mentioned doing free mods to the D-max, just wondering what these might be.
Thanks
Sean.

Free? There ain't nothin' free! :)

I suppose if you already own a hacksaw, cutting out the catalytic converter for a few extra ponies could be considered "free."

You heard right,
What you need to do is go to your local Chevy dealer and talk to the parts person. Tell them you want the GM-111 service pack. You will walk out the door with and the Edge W/attitude , a full 4" Exhaust system , A true cold air intake, A Predator programmer , and in some states they are ever giving you a full nitrous / propane system. Just remember, you need to ask for the GM-111.
Enjoy
Dan

I thought you had to also give them your truck and go pick one off the lot to get the full GM-111 package.

If by free, you mean "When you buy 4 rooms of furniture, we will give you a FREE lamp!", sure.

If you mean pluging a resistor in the MAF, the MAP sensor, or the rail pressure sensor, nope. The engine is too smart for those tricks.

I have been calling the dealers in my area and no one has heard of this service pack.
Can you give me more information on this and even give the dealer that you talked with.

Thanks

The free mods are minimal in performance gains. I only know of two: EGR mod and Swiss cheese airbox.

You can run up the boost for free by controlling a leak in the boost sensor line.

Kingg, if the dealers in your area haven't heard about the GM-111 service pack then you obviously have been going to GMC dealers and not Chevy. In which case you MUST ask for GMC - 111 Service pack. Same service pack just a different part number (their software isn't interchangable).

My dealer even gave me a loaner 2500HD while they did the upgrade. I didn't have to spend a dime. The improvements are remarkable.

When you request the "ID 10 T" Service Pack, you get quicker service and everyone smiles and gives you a thumbs up.

Take that air baffle off on top of the motor. There is no need to "silence" the air entering it. Plug it with a simple plumbers tool.

"ID 10 T" Service Pack

Think those are backordered at my dealer. (But I've plenty at my place of business)

Do not use any plumber's tools. Auto Zone carries a baffle tool at a reasonable price. Use the right tool for the job.

Actually, they've come up with and upgrade to this Service Pack ... which is why they are backordered. The replacement is the "LU 5 ER" Service Pack and if you request it early, you get a $50 bill with it! I'm in good with Service at my dealer and they told me about it. Already got my $50! Don't wait for the backorder ... it'll be too late. Call 'em up and tell them to change the order from "ID 10 T" to "LU 5 ER".
