I removed my upper intake this a.m. Much to my amazement there was no webbing at all. :cool2: It came this way- no marks from previous owner doing it himself.

It had a molding/casting mark for the EGR on the inside but I don't have EGR.

yup, good pics, thanks. For some reason I thought all the intakes were like the S type. Cherry lesson learned!

Some "F" upper intakes have the round boss for the egr ring to match the lower. The webbing is not there, but the ring is.. The factory # is 10149644. I wounder why? Do you think all later 6.5 had egr lowers and used this upper to seal it without the egr valve?

That is the part # indeed. I dunno. One note to mention- I do have a replacement GM crate motor installed ~ 3 or 4 years ago. Could be a later production model? I'm very new to the whole diesel thing, so I can't draw on much experience or knowledge with GM diesel products. Now, if this were a fox-bodied Mustang...
