sorry guys i have researched hard but get mixed reactions. i want to know what the loudest is on a lb7. Mine would be straight piped all the way back. Some say the duals are loud others say they are not bad. Then some say the single is the same, then some say it is louder than duals??? i have also heard straight pipe the stock exhaust and its louder??? man i just dont know anymore, does anyone??

Duals will be loudest all the way around, And a single will be loudest to one side. I think that singles and duals are the same pitch and have the same sound levels. It just depends where you want the sound. Thats just me tho....and I would go DUALS!

I have a single 4in from summit and if your looking for loud...then get the summit exhaust...it will shake your teeth above 1800 RPM!

This may be a bit of apples to oranges comparison as the systems I am comparing are from different manufactures, but here's my .02. The single is MUCH louder, especially the turbo whistle. The systems I am comparing are my Summit single 4” and my father's dual 4” MBRP. Both systems are sans kitty which increased turbo whistle on both trucks. Obviously the main differences between the systems are dual vs. single and the muffler and I'm certain the muffler makes some difference, how much I don't know.

Duals do split the amount of air comming out of the pipes...so I guess a large single would be best, if you think about it that way. But duals are still my fav...and mine still seems to be a little louder than cody single. IMO

Hey DMAX in you sig it says 5" duals exiting out infront of you rear tires. Do you have pics of the exhaust? I would like to see your set up.

yeah, let me get some for you guys...I was also trying to get a pic of codys single...but I didnt find him out on North friday night.

im hearing that 5 in single is the loudes. so i think that will be the best for the loudest pipe. Anyone else agree that 5 in. is louder than 4.

Yes in this case it probably is true. The Summit, Jegs type of systems come with a hollow can muffler (no packing materials) and that will increase the BOOMey sound and overall volume of the exhaust sound. If you compare a MBRP single to a dual there will be a slight and I mean slight volume increase from the duals. The dual muffler is slightly smaller and because you are getting sound from the drivers side of the truck it will be slightly louder, you would have to have one of each side by side to tell the difference though.
