I just backed into my driveway and shut off the truck. Upon shutdown there is a loud rattle from underneath. The rattle is also there on startup until the rpm's come up. I have to guess it's the torque converter bolts. I'll climb under it tomorrow a.m. I need to pull a trailer in the morning before the bad weather sets in and I may leave the D-Max home and take another truck.
Is there a dust cover that's easy to pull off and look at the bolts?

You must pull the strarter motor out to get to the converter bolts. Make sure you disconnect batterys before you do this and use a socket and wratchet to turn engine over at crankshaft . There are six bolts to check.
