Ya, I got mine in the mail 02 Oct 05. Do you think they will replace the filter if the one I have on NAPA (Wix)???:nutkick:

Yes..... 1 free fuel filter change. Then the recall can be cleared for your VIN.

I just had the fuel filter (most current one) and steering shaft replaced yesterday on my 04. No charge. Took all the rattle out of the column. For how long, I do not know. But for now, I'm happy.

I got my freebie fuel filter today and at perfect mileage time for a changeout. It's the latest greatest, but I'm dying to cut it open and see what's with the extra bulge at the bottom. Don't see a reason for it, but obviously GM/Bosch/Isuzu does.

I love it though, saved me 20 minutes and $30.

The reason for the extra bulge is that they wanted a longer filter media and on an LB7 the valve cover is in the way. They had to cut it in to miss rubbing on the valve cover. On an LB7 the filter head is spaced out further from the motor so it is not a problem.

If they tightened it enough to dent it, you may have fun changing it next time.

I just want to go in and get the filter and change it myself. Not sure if the local dealership will go for that, but I am sure I can get it through the dealership my brother-in-law works at.

I was wanting to do the same thing. Let me know if they let you do that.
