.........to verify they're working correctly?

I would think you could do it with a tech 2.

I think it would throw a code and illuminate the ABS/brake light if something was amiss or one of the wheel speed sensors wasnt communicating VSS data. The EBCM is constantly reading data form the wheel speed sensors, so it would know right away if something was wrong...

He is getting a abs/brake light IIRC. That is why he wants to know ;)

You could check them with an ohm meter across the 2 wires. You should see it pulse between continuity and an open circuit as you rotate the wheel. At least this is how I assume it works.

ABS sensors are VR (variable reluctance) sensors. You need a moving piece of ferrous metal to create a changing magnetic field in the sensor (thus creating current). Works like an electrical generator.

You could measure resistance, but that will only tell you if you have an open. If you know which sensor it is, verify that it is mounted correctly. VR sensors are very airgap sensitive (if the sensor gets to far from the tone ring it won't generate a signal).

There is a range of resistance for a sensor that its supposed to fall in. Also you can spin the wheel and measure the AC Voltage output from a sensor.

Yea what he said...lol... Sorry I didnt get a chance to put values in there, had to actually work :(
