Does anyone have 19.5" wheels on their dually? I want to get rid of my 16" steel and I seen that they have 19.5 for my truck. Is there any draw backs to using them?

Dont have them but i done lots of research. They look really cool, may rub lock to lock, have to trim a little on the airdam. your limited to 245/70r19.6. i suggest 225/70r19.5.

Yeah, I have been doing alittle research too lately. At rickson truck they will make the wheel to use our 8 lug and use proper back spacing. It might not rub it the front end is lifted an inch or so.

hmm im only bout 2 hours from them. might have to go visit. just gotta make time and money

Rims 19.5 x 6.75

front CDAH-986624-2 2x $414.98

rear outside CDAH-986624-1 2x $437.97

rear inside 1196-2118-91-G 2x 229.55

$2,165.00

tires goodyear g124 225/70r19.5 6x $213.90

$1,283.40

total $3,448.40 not much cheaper than the conversion. wonder if they would make a deal for pickup. still need some type of balancer unless you go with the match mounting at $37.50 a tire or 225 which makes your cost goto $3,673.40 plus delivery. I believe Maverick told me once that the conversion complete with shipping was around 4k.

That is true....almost 4K. But I was living in Alaska at the time and shipping is expensive. The 225/70-19.5 will not rub. Atleast they didn't on my 3500. More pics. (http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=1012182&uid=437876)

How did they ride ??? I heard with the available "rubber" size and spec they are riding harsh as hell ..... I mean in 19.5 there isn't alot of choices ... You have to over spec and between side wall ply and tire PSI it has to be rough ..... This is what has shy'd me away....

Sure it rode a little stiffer but thats to be expected. My truck was a work truck. Just needed the extra capacity. You only got 2 choices of 12 or 14 ply. I had the "G" rated 14 ply on mine.

I wish mine would go out and find a "job" and support it self ....

Yeah, I know the ride must be alittle harsh. I am used of that though. I use to drive lower vehicles and it does not bother me. I just put shockes on to soften things up. I want to put 265/75/19.5 on my dually. I think that I will have to have key it the front so I don't rub.

chevmeister

i think your pushing it with 265 those running 245 needed trimming IIRC.

How about some 22s?

I had heard about taking 22.5 wheels and machining them to install 22's. I saw this truck this week. I didn't get to look at the sizes, but I was able to snap a quick picture. I bet his load capacity just went down the tube.

Bear I don't like the low profile tires on big wheels. It defeats the purpose of adding bigger wheels.

Yep, definitely marching to the beat of a different drummer. It makes a nice show truck.

Re: those low profiles on the Dodge

Why someone would do that to a perfectly good truck is beyond me. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifThere's an outfit around here called "Rent n Roll" and there's obviously a big market for this stuff.
