TheBac 10-01-2005, 09:05 PM Mark,
What amp and radio part numbers are you using?
markssylver 10-02-2005, 01:03 AM i am using the amp that i think is 19151601 the tnr i dont know it doesnt have a sticker on it but it does have spacious front rear and normalso i believe it is lux
also i noticed that even with the radio off i can hear the amp clicking
TheBac 10-02-2005, 09:21 AM Ok, so you have a TNR-compatible amp. The "clicking" bothers me though. That amp shouldn't be making noises.
No sticker on the TNR? Thats odd. In Ben's NAV install thread, he lists the non-LUX and LUX TNR part numbers.
TheBac 10-02-2005, 12:58 PM Ok, I read my Install thread, and realized there was a problem I overlooked in my proofreading when I posted it. I am waiting on Nick to send me the Place's contact addy so I can get the new version up.
I have a feeling that when using a "regular" Bose headunit, you may not be able to "test" it. It may have to HAVE the dealer reprogram to work or test. I have not heard from anyone else about this problem with the install yet.
Go over everything you did. Did you swap that drain (bare) wire over to B7 of the C1 connector from E of the C2 connector and also remove the other bare drain wire in B11? Where did you connect up your Class II wire?
This is a brand-new swap, so we're finding the "holes" in the instructs and fixing the problems as information comes available. Please keep me posted.
PM me with your email addy if you want me to get it to you ASAP. For the time being , follow Diagrams 1 and 3.
You have my apologies.
DURAtotheMAX 10-02-2005, 02:23 PM When you say the amp "clicks", how loud is it? When the truck is off, my speakers pop and clikc VERY softly once about every 15 seconds. I think its just the amp receiving Class II data SOH (state of health) signals. Or the amp's computer "sleeping".
---Ben
markssylver 10-02-2005, 02:59 PM the amp clicking noise is about as loud as a relay clicking off and on the popping sound is only coming from the right rear speaker
and yes i did remove the drain wire from b11 and connected the drain wire from E to the b7 and i got my class IIwire from my rsa 's a1 lightblue wire
markssylver 10-02-2005, 04:25 PM even though the arrows in diagram 2 are wrong the pin positions are still correct right ?all you really need is the wire color and new position right ?
TheBac 10-02-2005, 05:44 PM The pin positions are correct. I figured out how to edit an imported document in Word and I redid the diagram in color and moved the arrows.
markssylver 10-02-2005, 05:57 PM since the pin positions are correct then my wireing is correct then could it be a bad amp ? or that my tnr isnt lux no sticker on it no way to check it it does have spacious ,normal rear , and front sound fields
TheBac 10-02-2005, 05:59 PM Could very well be a non-LUX TNR. I just ran into this same problem....when I was testing mine in my truck, I could use all the functions, but no sound came out.
DURAtotheMAX 10-02-2005, 06:18 PM You should be able to check it's part number with a Tech 2. How can you not check for the soundfield options? Is it Theftlocked? If so, turn the key to ACC and wait for the nav radio to boot up and show the "THEFTLOCK" screen. Then go to the underhood fuse box, pull the 15amp radio fuse (with the key still in ACC) and then replace the fuse. The radio will temporarrily unlock and let you use every function on it. Then you can check for the soundfield options...

markssylver 10-02-2005, 06:20 PM but why would i only be getting sound from my subwoofer arent the lux ones the ones with the different sound fields that why i still think i have a lux tnr
markssylver 10-02-2005, 06:23 PM if i have a non lux then i could rewire back to stock and put my premium ampback in and it should work right ?
markssylver 10-02-2005, 06:26 PM it is unlocked and i can check for the sound field s i do have normal rear spacious and i think driver
TheBac 10-02-2005, 06:33 PM but why would i only be getting sound from my subwoofer arent the lux ones the ones with the different sound fields that why i still think i have a lux tnr
Good question. You have me stumped.
if i have a non lux then i could rewire back to stock and put my premium ampback in and it should work right ?
Yes, I guess you could. Man, that would be a lot of work.
it is unlocked and i can check for the sound field s i do have normal rear spacious and i think driver
Then it should be a LUX. Again, you have me stumped.
killerbee 10-02-2005, 06:40 PM i am using the amp that i think is 19151601 the tnr i dont know it doesnt have a sticker on it but it does have spacious front rear and normalso i believe it is lux
What does the amp look like? Snap a pic. You are doubtful, so am I
markssylver 10-02-2005, 06:50 PM the amp is longer than my premium one with taller cooling fins on the rearmost part with a round dimple in the front with bose on it the part #is 15191601 guess im kind of dislexic
DURAtotheMAX 10-02-2005, 06:58 PM Yeah, its no doubt a lux amp...Im still thinking you simply put wires in the wrong places...I mean I guess it could be a bad amp too...who knows...are the chimes working now? Can you take a picture of your amp connectors and the wires going into them so I can double check that the wires are all right and everything?

DURAtotheMAX 10-03-2005, 09:42 PM ahh no problem!! happy to help out...glad it was as simple as a broke amp...Save those dead ones though...they might be able to be given CPR with a Tech 2 and brought back to life...then you can sell 'em on ebay for 300 bucks a pop!

TheBac 10-04-2005, 06:55 AM Im very happy for you. Glad we were able to help you.
