Hello All,
Need some help here. Sig has info on truck. My truck won't start. I turn the key and it's like it isn't getting power. Some clicking and flashing of the dash lights. Dash lights are dim. I made sure the batteries had a charge they do and seem to have been full. I removed the battery cables and cleaned them and where they connect. I even replaced one of the neg cables as the last guy broke it and jammed it in a place to get the connection. I'm running out of ideas as to what might be wrong. Also no codes.
Thanks for the help.

Looks like you need to check out entire main cabling, corrosion "wicked" under the insulation will drop votage to the truck, also GMs notoriously bad for poor grounds, check on back of block pass side that main gnd strap is connected or corrosion free, better yet is to add 2nd gnd to block to frame in location you can monitor it's health.

TD,
ok I'm lost. How do I find this ground on the Pass side? The driver side battery ground was the one I replaced and that connects to the top of the engine. The pass side ground was cleaned and connects to the top of the engine. This main ground? Connects to the block on the pass side of the engine up top or down below. Any pics would be a help.
Any electronic parts cause this type of problem?
Thanks for the help,
DG

I had a similar problem on my 94 and it turned out to be the starter. Just a thought.

I had a bad ground on my block and it caused a similar problem. Make sure if you have a bad ground and you put a new ground strap to the block, make sure to use a large wire or it'll burn up really quick, that starter takes a lot of juice.

I used a # 4 battery cable with ring lug each end I could pass a bolt through oe bolt to frame and oter to any stud on the block ie alternator bracket, factory gnd is a copper wire braid back side of block pass side head usually, some go to the valley between the heads near where the fuel filter mounts on the engine, other end terminats lower frame area, near turbo downpipe/starter

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up cleaning the main grounds and replaced the batteries. It's now running great again.(knocking on some wood.)
Why did they put that block ground connect in such a wonderful place. The main one that goes to the frame?

Because they said "Hey, putting the oil pressure switch under the intake manifold didn't piss everybody off bad enough, so lets try this!!":badidea: Don't even get me started on replacing the front brake rotors.
