Well,
I replaced mine yesterday (2001 GMC D/A)
I ended up buying @GMpartsDirect for $63 part # 97300857 $78 shipped .
The belt I ordered was a Goodyear Gatorback Belt 2830mm for the 105amp alt. Part # 4061112 , I got that from pick pro autoparts (a yahoo store-front) for $30 + $5 s&h .Hope this helps you guys out there facing the same problems.here is the link

Mine is going too. I can just imagine what the dealer is gonna charge me even though we have an account there.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

It is so eqasy to do yourself, Give it a shot.
Go to Gmpartsdirect.com (http://Gmpartsdirect.com)order the part# above then go to pickproaoutoparts (http://pickproaoutoparts.com)and order your goodyear belt(if you have an '01 w/ 105 amp alt.)Part # also above

Dealer wants $110 for the part (tensioner) and $54 for the belt. Add in the Labor and you'd be screwed.

Good LuckEdited by: pepperidge

Lol. I should've been more clear about that. I will change the tensioner myself. I was referring to the part. If you paid $110 US then it looks as though I'll be paying roughly $200 Can.

I didn't pay $110, Check my first post.

Go to parts direct. I think they would ship to CA, Not sure?
