I KNOW THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN BEAT TO DEATH...but I just bought an '05 ECSB D/A. I am wanting to reach a 13 second 1/4 mile keeping what I have and adding a little! PLEAESE HELP!!!

Here's what I have: Edge w/ Attitude
Airaid complete intake
4" Exhaust w/o the kitty
EGR Plate & Fingerstick (in the mail :ro) )
TTS Dual Lift Pumps (in the mail :ro) )


With that said, I'm going to get a new Torque Converter and Transgo kit.

What else is need (WHILE KEEPING WHAT I HAVE) to get to the 13's!

When you run 13's, your stock tranny wont last long... I dont know if the Edge fuels enough to get into the 13's. And even if it fuels enough, I think its tranny and EGT protection features would kick in and kill power before you get to a 13 second quarter mile. I ran a 14.3 (according to the Edge timer) with the Edge on 5/5 and the PPE HOT Xcellerator on the 90hp tune. Thats with a bone stock tranny. I think the best an Edge will do, even with a completely built tranny, is mid, maybe low 14's.

Ahhh didnt see that you have a Westers tune. How much HP does that add?? Does it stack well with the Edge?

I don't have the Wester's yet as they don't stock computers for the LLY's (I'll have to send Lyndon mine...). However, It will propably be the 60hp tune! Also, what trans mods would you suggest that are moderate, but won't kill the pocket book?

I ran 14.35's all day long w/ Predator and Edge stacked on stock trans at Union Grove Dragway. I got a best 14.322 w/ edge only, but I couldn't repeat it. I am getting a built trans. on Saturday and might race it w/ edge only on Sunday. I'll let ya know if It will runs 13's or not. My Predator is in for the new update.

Well due to labor, even a (250 dollar) TransGo kit can push 1000$ installed. While you have the trans apart, IMO, its worth it to just go ahead and do a Suncoast II or III. Because if you do the TransGo and converter now, and say spend 800 dollars on labor, and then decide to do a Suncoast III or something later on, you will have to spend another 800 dollars for labor "again". For me when I was contemplating trannys, I am just going to wait until I have saved enough money to go all the way (Suncoast IV). IMO, the ~2000 dollars or so for a TransGo and (a triple-disc TC is about 1000 IIRC) converter was just not worth it for the relatively small extra power holding capacity it would net. Basically, for just 1000 dollars more, you could do a complete Suncoast kit. If you want to run 13's, in my honest oppinion if I were you, I would wait and save enough money for a Suncoast II or III. I just dont think a simple TransGo and converter would hold up too well running 13's. Although some tranny guys who know much more than I do will probably chime in and be able to provide better advice. Good luck!

I think you'd need about $1000 more for a Suncoast 3. Since you do not give your location, I'd PM DmaxAllitech for a price if I was you.

Preadtor on 100 w/edge on 3,4,5 w/low boost on 5 got the same results. This was before my TTS lift pumps were on. The trans can't handle the stack and that is why changing the Edge didn't get better times. It shifted like crap.

35" tires are not going to help get into the 13's either.

If your doing the labor yourself(you can) I'd do the transgo/converter. If your having it done I'd go the stage 4 route.

Look at my sig. for HP and times. My trans fluid is pink and smells like new after over a hundred boosted launches, some on pane and N2O. A couple of others with LB7's that I've contacted are running in the 12's with the transgo/converter. I'll be into the trans in a couple of months to update some hard parts and will post on appearence of clutches.

A boost stick or PPE boost controler is going to be a must have for the 13second run. You can do it without, but 34psi is going to burn a lot more fuel and make things easier!
