O.K.... After scouring sources for a inexpensive auxiliary tank, I settled on using a 32 gallon gas tank out of a '77 Chevy Blazer. The price was right, "FREE!", verses $350.+ for a cube tank from TSC or $700.+ for one of the aftermarket replacement tanks.
My question I pose is this... The tank is spotless on the inside and I'm concerned with it rusting. Should I get one of those (or a few, for a tank this size) epoxy kits to coat the interior of the tank? Were the Diesel Blazer tanks steel also, or were they Plastic? Now is the time for me to epoxy it if I need too.
I just want the extra capacity for my long trips. Seems when you venture from the Interstate these days, the price skyrockets the further into the sticks you get.
For those wondering, this tank would fit nicely where the spare tire is except for the big frame crossmember that one would have to modify or remove (I'm not doing either).
