: Favorite everday power level
dpower 09-27-2005, 09:00 PM What does everyone here run as a daily driving tune. I am constantly fighting with myself between running a mild 70 hp tune evryday or running something like the VA and pred. that nets about 430-440 hp. I know what I want to run....but I am thinking in terms of longevity here. During normal driving conditions I see no pyro temp differences between a 70 hp. tune and a stack with the VA in it giving some extra boost. The pred and VA seem to play nice with the cruise control....the ppe doesn't. The PPE definitely is the winner at the track.....but lets get some insight on daily driven tunes with modded and un-modded trannys.
Max Power 09-27-2005, 09:03 PM PPE hot xcellerator on kill, VA on kill, and fingers boost stick All day, everyday.
PPE seems ok with the VA as far as cruise etc goes. It doesn't bother me anyways.
I am happy with these tunes (except I would like more power) and I don't like to switch tunes because I don't like the tranny having to constantly relearn.
nosliw 09-27-2005, 09:06 PM 40hp tune.
it's hard to do, but looking at the fuel prices keeps it at that.
05_LLY 09-27-2005, 10:09 PM i've been pred on 65hp i like this a whole lot better than the edge on level 1 or 2 it seems a lot smoother and i havent filled up with fuel yet to run some numbers but my mpg's seems to be up quite a bit also runnig the pred on 65 and edge on 0/5!!

I was running around with that stack too for the last two months. It actually behaves really well on the street but when I put it in cruise it is a little jerky. Maybe I am just gonna have to re-install that stack. I put the 2nd pred tune in this past week trying to tell myself I am going to calm down with this hp s^#t at least for the hunting season and the winter but I know it will not last. Anybody else.....
NODMAX 09-28-2005, 07:13 AM PPE Extreme with the VA on 70...Need to get my mitts on a Fingers Boost Stick or a PPE Boost doohicky.
BarryD 09-28-2005, 09:07 AM Predator on 65. Mileage seems the same or better as stock. Unfortunately the ability to go fast seems to negate any MPG improvements.
madwire 09-28-2005, 10:57 AM i run a bully dog at the 90 hp setting. i have a stock trans so i was thinking about going down one setting.
BudTX 09-28-2005, 11:27 AM Predator on 65. Mileage seems the same or better as stock. Unfortunately the ability to go fast seems to negate any MPG improvements.
Same here. If I can keep my foot out of it I can average 19-20 mpg per tank, unloaded and 85% highway driving.
Mike_in_Wisc 09-28-2005, 12:37 PM Predator at 65HP getting 20.1 to 20.3 MPG last four tanks in a row. Went back to stock for warranty work, got 17.4 MPG on that one tank. Needless to say I'm back on the 65HP.
That mileage is in the hum-drum world of two lane highway 60 miles a day round trip to work at 55 to 65 MPH. Haven't seen a interstate burst of 70 MPH since last xmas.
lbz492 09-28-2005, 09:13 PM i have been running the ppe xcellerator hot on 90 and va on 70 works good so far for everyday and towing
I have been running PPE Hot +2 / VA on 1. Just need my boost controller installed. It's No 1 on the Hunny Do list ):h
partsguy662 09-28-2005, 11:28 PM Predator on the 100hp..
briano 09-28-2005, 11:38 PM I run the Edge/*** in level 3, low boost 1 and I get better mileage than the "mileage" tune..level 1.. I think level 3 is 75hp, 150lbs or something close to that.
AndrewFessler 09-29-2005, 01:44 AM I run Edge/attitude in level 4, low boost 5. Sometimes I'll bump down to level 3.
Most of my driving is in 20 mile bursts.
Goalnightx 09-29-2005, 10:50 AM I run the 90HP tune on my Hot PPE box everyday. Cruise and everything else runs great. Nothing noticeable as far as a daily driver. (Until you stand on it)
McRat 09-29-2005, 11:04 AM The TSD is my grocery getter tune. ;)
dodge trucks suck 09-30-2005, 02:44 AM Predator at 65HP getting 20.1 to 20.3 MPG last four tanks in a row. Went back to stock for warranty work, got 17.4 MPG on that one tank. Needless to say I'm back on the 65HP.

Is this hand calculated. Seems like a nice improvement. Might go that route myself.
Anyone else getting results like this?

Yup, hand calc'd. My LS don't have the auto-thingy for MPG. My only other thoughts with this is, will it keep that same MPG when the cool air starts moving in for the winter. As of this week I'll find out pretty soon.
