I have been running a Edge EZ for a couple of weeks now and the effects on MPG are noticeable.

Hand calculated results are:

stock.................over 269 miles, MPG was 16.1
level 1................over 266 miles, MPG was 14.42
level 2................over 259 miles, MPG was 14.15

I have yet to try level 3 for any amount of time at all, I do not have gauges and I don't want to take a chance on killing my tranny. I kept my driving habits the same. I really wanted to see what effect the EZ would have on MPG so I kept my foot out of it except to pass another vehicle. I did not pass vehicles any more often when in level 1 or 2 compared to stock. I was a little surprised at the results.

This was a non-scientific experiment. I drove a combination of interstate highway, 2 lane state highways and city driving. Always unloaded with a bed cover installed. Neither test had a significant amount more highway than city or city than highway. Edge never made any claims regarding increased MPG on the LLY, only on the LB7 are increased MPG likely according to EDGE and it's printed on the back of the EDGE EZ box.

The EZ performs well. The power when you do put your foot into it comes on real strong yet smoothly. No surging or hard shifts. This is a great piece of performance equipment in my opinion if your expectations are reasonable and do not want to significantly modify your truck. Do not buy the EZ if you have a LLY and want to increase your fuel mileage.

Edit: No towing at any time during my informal testing. The only load was baseball equipment that stays in the bed most of the time and two kids. Also the DIC mileage was very close, the widest gap between hand calcs and DIC was 0.4 when running the EZ. DIC was within 0.2 stock (EZ removed). I did not put that in my original messege because it seems that most folks don't go by the DIC mileage. Mine seems to be fairly accurate.

I wonder what the dic mpg was and what your average speed was and any towing or weight?just wondering-that mpgs sounds low?what was it before the EZ? sorry for all the questions, but Iam really interested in the EZ!

I've been running the Edge EZ for a couple of months. I've run it 300-400 miles on each setting, and compared it to stock. Driven the same way, on the same terrain, with similar climate conditions, absolutely no difference in MPG. Have noticed a significant difference in fuel quality though, specifically AMMOCO (BP) diesel. I always get 1 MPG less using it, so, I'm avoiding it. Possibly the reason your mileage is less, is that you are enjoying the new found power...it's pretty hard to resist.

Without the Edge, my DIC is right on the money, as far as gallons of fuel used. With the edge, it becomes inaccurate. On a full fillup (20-25 Gals), it's off by nearly 2 gallons, as it says that I used more fuel than I can put back into the tank.

Knowing that, it's very important that the mileage be hand calculated, don't rely on the DIC. Also, I have found a large difference in MPG's from 62 to 70 MPH, these trucks push alot of air. 62 seems to be the sweet spot for mine, and, it will get almost 22 MPG on the freeway. Not bad for a vehicle that weighs almost 4 tons.

BTW, if you read the box that the EZ came in, on the back it clearly states that the mileage improvement only applies to the LB7 engine, not the LLY.
