Hi,

does anyone else have this problem and/or found a cure. Now that it is cold my parking brake when released does not return all the the way up and I have to try and hold the release lever with one hand and pull up on the pedal with the other. When the cab heats up no problems. Small problem but a PITA.

Thanks,

Steve

I have the same problem and have been meaning to get it under the dash to see if there is a return spring that I can tighten. I will let you know if I find a solution without going to the dealer. BTW - mine seems to do this regardless of the temp.

If there is one thing I learned when I use to work at a dealership (Chevy/GM what else) when you see one problem on a customers car you can bet there our others with the same problem out there as well. My 12/04d/a (1,700 miles) has the e-brake release acting up as well, seems like the pedal is not coming up far enough to trip the light off on the dash when cold. I'm waiting for the weather to get a little warmer (to cold up here in PA.) now that switching type noise behind the dash is another story?

I have loosened the release handle and turned it slightly. To get mine to work properly. It is held on by one 10mm bolt.I The plastic handle was dragging on the trim panel.
