Is anyone familiar with the Craftec brand tilting hatch tonneau covers? I'm considering buying a tonneau cover but I don't want to spend over $300 and I want to keep my stainless bed rail tubes (or whatever they're called). I came across someone selling these on eBay for $240 + $35 shipping. The website for Craftec is http://www.craftecinc.com/Products.php. It would be Part # 251129. It looks to be a pretty good product, but I've never heard of them. What do you guys and gals think? :confuzeld

I had one on my previous truck for about a year and a half.. It was a very flat, low profile tonneau cover which was a big plus for me.. and it was nice and light so you can take it off by yourself. It probably only weighed 12 lbs. total. But you better know if you're going to be picking up something large before you leave, because you can't roll back the vinyl cover or take apart the frame when you're out somewhere. And you wouldn't want to drive anywhere with it half open like you could with a hard cover, the frame is very flimsy when its not locked down to the bed.

I'm not sure if you can keep the side rails or not.. the cover does sit on the top of the bed rails so you might run into a clearance issue there..

You can find the Lund roll-up covers out there for $249 now, they're like truxedo covers that clamp to the inside of the bed sides.. You can definitely keep your tubes with a cover that attaches like that..

Thanks for the reply. I didn't really expect to get many because I had never heard of Craftec and I wasn't sure how many here have.

Do any of our vendors sell tonneau covers? I really haven't had time to look.
