Hello everyone. Was by one of the accounts I call on in Baton Rouge and saw that he handles Baldwin filters for my DMAX. The Baldwin fuel filter was around $18.00 while the GM fuel filter is around $75.00. Have any of you had any experience with using the Baldwin filters (fuel, oil, tranny)? Thanks for any advice on them.

I use the fuel and oil filter .They are awesome filters. I believe the fuel filter is made by RACOR but just labeled baldwin. Hopefully someone can jump in here and explain this better.

The common wisdom on this web site is that ALL brands of Duramax fuel filters are made by Racor and are the same except for labels.

<DIV>The Baldwin filters are top quality, actually comparable with the Cat filters for fuel in the two add on locations. The B1441 Oil Filter looks identical to the Amsoil filter when opened up and I have been using them since my first oil change.</DIV>
<DIV>Baldwin gets their OEM fuel filter from Racor and resells them. Racor is the only one that makes that filter. ( Liscensing? )</DIV>

IIRC, Baldwin makes the amsoil oil filter.

Hello all-

I use Baldwin filters on my Duramax due to the fact that I can get them cheap and they are very high quality filters. The company that we buy them from took us on a tour to the factory where they make Baldwin filters and they make several brands but just put diffrent labeling on them. If anyone is interested I can quote prices on cases of the oil filters (B1441), and i'm working on the fuel filters know.

Thanks

The Baldwin and Amsoil are the same. I have pics at the site in my sig that show them cut open side by side.

I have used Baldwin filters for many ears on my PSD, and all of my diesel equipment, currently 4 pieces. They are high quality and can be bought at reasonable prices. They have a great website to locate and cross ref filters also baldwinfilters.com.
