SnowBandit 09-24-2005, 09:49 PM Talk about slow! My truck was built this past Wed. Shiped this morning at 4:40 on a rail car heading east. It will not be at the dealer to 10/18 according to GM.. I didn't know we were in the stone age.. I could have drive out there and back about 10 times in that amount of time. Its traveling from MI to New England(ME) not England..
Ok Rant over.. I just want my truck!
redeagle313 09-24-2005, 11:54 PM The railroads are very slow. Did you give Howard_M18 your information to see if he can expedite it?
SnowBandit 09-25-2005, 08:34 AM Yup...
RVerFulltime 09-25-2005, 05:19 PM When was the S.O.N. dated?
Since they have a V.I.N. for your truck, can you buy the truck under employee pricing by having the dealer do the contract now even though the truck is not in yet??
SnowBandit 09-25-2005, 09:30 PM Could, But want the truck in before I buy it. Don't like buying something that cost that much when I don't have it in hand... Of course dealer says large rebates to cover the cost difference of Employee pricing. They are getting rid of the Employee pricing to save face basically.
mwgasman 09-25-2005, 09:33 PM The wait is agonizing. Mine was built 1-21-04. I picked it up 2-28-04 in Idaho.
63teamster 09-26-2005, 07:09 PM Its the railroad bud, their transit times suck on anything. Put it on a union car carrier and it would be there in days, not weeks, just my experience in the transportation industry and my pro-union bent. And yes, i know the railroad is "union" but the system doesnt get the job done efficiently. The automakers are trying to save money on transport by using rail and non-union transporters and plants outside the USA,but as usual, dont pass those savings on to consumer. As proof, sit down on the border and watch all the Dodge products and GM Yukons and Suburbans come across(on the rail) after being built in Mexico. Have they gotten any cheaper? I am not trying to start a fight or political debate(honestly),just my opinion and experience. "PUT IT ON RUBBER." Sorry, off topic, but couldnt resist. My avatar should say it all. Hope you get your truck soon, waiting is tough.I'll probably catch hell after this post.

Hamops 09-27-2005, 11:40 AM It's already been four weeks since I ordered mine and I'm told that it will be the first of November before I can expect delivery. I was also told that my order has been queued in the computer, but no build date has been set. I'm a patient person. I know that it will eventually arrive.

I don't have that information. The information that I mentioned in the post was given to me by my salesman, over the phone. I'll have to have a little chat with him tomorrow. I'll try to get that info and if I do, I'll get it to you via your email address. It would be kind of nice to be one step ahead of the salesman, eh.

That's nothing, I live about a mile from GM Canada's shipping and transfer yard, and I'd likely have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks after it arrives there, for it to be delivered to my dealership which about 5 miles away.
I have ordered 6 vehicles from GM and regardless of where they are built, it seems that GM tries very hard to stick to an 8 week window. Here's a good example. I ordered a 2000 Impala that was built less than a mile from my house. I ordered it on April 3, 2000, it was built on May 8, 2000 and I took delivery on June 3, 2000. Like I said, the GM shipping yard is about 5 miles from my dealership. Go figure eh!
SnowBandit 09-27-2005, 11:06 PM Ugggggggg... I was hoping it would make its way to the dealer tomorrow so I could pick it up friday..
