Running the PPE Hot with the Edge HJ and am wondering??? The setting on the PPE is the "330" FWHP setting with the timing backed off to 14 degrees stacked with the HJ set on anywhere from 0-3 setting. The Edge supposedly has about 6 degrees of timing in it. This setup gives you around 20-21 degrees of timing-----which is what PPE's HOT setting will give you by itself if you buy it un-modified. NOW with all that said----when you let the w/m go in with this stack at 20 psi boost you develop a fair amount of timing knock. How safe is this???? The F'n truck almost lifts off the road!!!! :eek: Running the HJ with the w/m is very quiet and great power. I can't run the PPE by itself because they don't have their overboost code problem fixed yet. I am running at 31-2 PSI boost after CAC through SD's manifold. The bottom line is how much rattle is too much????

Adjust your WM% till you find a mix that works for your setup is the best advice I can recommend. Don't go above 50/50 though.

Yeah, I am running a 50-50 mix right now. Seems to rattle even with windshield wash. Just concerned about too much detonation problems. Superdiesel can maybe tell us how much timing is too much with the w/m.

knock period isn't good. You basically firing while the piston is still coming up. I'm not saying the engine wont take that for awhile, but no motor likes pre-detonation. Do as Lobos suggested, back down the w/m until it doesn't knock, or is very mild.

Also advancing the timing is ok, up to a point. Kinda goes along with the knocking, but you wind up with Peak Cylinder pressures occuring before TDC. In those cituations you put the head, head gasket, the rotating assembly and the block in jepardy.

With that knock you'll probabaly have pretty little holes in your pistions:badidea:
