If the kitty happens to misplace itself with the new exhaust and downpipe, will the Burb have any trouble with emissions or particulates?

Thanks

My real cats would never be misplaced. Murph, aka punk cat, is the only other male in the house and he and I are buds.

The catalytic converter is another matter altogether...

Check to see how local inspections go before embarking down the trail. See how they do their testing and then determine if you want to just put in a "test pipe" or just eliminate altogether.

PS. Prestone works wonders for cats.............just a spoon full of Prestone makes the kitty go down, the kitty go down, the kitty gooo dooownnn..... name that tune.

I was just smogged here in Wa state and had an "opacity limit % of 1 and 20 is allowed. What surprised everyone at the testing station is that it had to go on the rollers for a test pipe sniffer. Even tho they all recognized it was a 3/4 ton, the vin and side markings called it a 1500 and by their regulations it had to be sniffed. GVR was 8050(?) and needed 8500 to exempt.

I'm guessing that I could probably pass without it and just keep the old thing around if needed.

I had noticed the Mary Poppins thing earlier. I'm under my 454 for an oil pressure sender switch. Luck with the 350.

Thanks ......son and I got it all apart today. took off everything that was suppose to be disassembled. flywheel was hardest to get off...mostly cause I rapped my fingers, nice cut full of grease..i was pissed at it but figured out how to keep it still, jammed a big screwdriver in the teeth and wedged it against the tranny.. Only complaint I have was Every once in a while a drop of oil dripped down my top from the exposed bearings.:uhoh2: yuck......and i kept running over my pigtail with the creeper, i dont know how guys with long hair can wrench..and is it normal to keep hitting the same knuckle that you rapped over and over again.....

Everything else came off with the help of a long bar. tommarow well will hook it up to the chains and lift it out.. hopefully have it running tommarow. started putting parts back on newer block... was a long day.took a long time to get my nails clean......so much for the manicure...........

Before a motor rebuild, I try to remember to get 5+ bottles of brake clean as a motor degreaser. All it helps on is cutting down the grease, not the rapped knuckles. And I always hit the same knuckle.

Hope yours runs today.

And put the degreaser where? how do u clean out the inside of the motor? run water through it? we blew air in the holes and all this rust dust and crap came out.. look like a steam engine.. i cant work on it today..my body is too sore....my arms ,back and legs are all stiff today...ill wait till after work tommarow to finish it off.....:o:

Mgibrace

Thought the grease was outside the motor and in that case I just spray the Censored out of it. Do I understand that a lot of the crap was on the inside of the motor? If so, and I could drain the brake clean, I'd still use it to degrease. Hopefully in the bottom end, not the cylinder walls and pistons.

Tylenol, or even better the drug store otc codiene is your friend. Take it before you start and you won't be so sore when you finish. That's what us older guys do....
