Here is a product I stumbled accross today. Looks kinda neat. Would also solve the broken strap problem. I am not sure if this is on just one side of the tailgate or both. I would assume both.

"This new product from Pop n' Lock is designed to cushion the opening of the tailgate of today's heavy truck tailgates."
Today's heavy tailgates? What a crock. I could take out the tailgate alone on this '03 GMC whereas the one on my '73 F250 (that I had until four years ago) had to be done by two people. My wife couldn't open or close it alone because she's a tiny thing. She can open and close the one on the GMC.
Everything about this truck (and all makes of trucks now days) bodywise, is lighter and flimsier than that old F250.
Buy the VR Straps, and save enough money for a couple month's membership to a gym so you can lift "today's heavy truck tailgates."Edited by: Kartattack
