Just got done installing the racor 660 filter w/ heat on my truck. The install is post OEM, mounted in the optional dual alt. area. Used Russel silicon fuel line with the Russel twist lock fittings. Opened petcock on racor and primed system using OEM primer, fired right up with no problems. I'll find out in the a.m. if I have to prime it again.

How about some pic's of your install. I am interested in a pre filter and cannot decide to use the Racor RK32313 jit or Greg's kit. Did you make a bracket for the filter on your install.

I made the bracket out of 1/4" aluminum. Very simple install, did not have to cut any factory lines.

Have faith 04. If you used sealer on all the threads it will start right up. I have done several under the hood. Don't they prime real easy? Later! Frank

With Greg's kit, you CUT the factory fuel line http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wacko.gif. Why cut when there are so many more proven options that can be easily reversed if need be?

Yes, used Permatex joint pipe compound(good stuff). Primes real easy, did not even have a sputter on start up.

The install looks alot like mine! I have had it on sense September, and have 13,000 miles with this setup. I never had a problem with stalling or no-starts until the filter had between 10,000 and 11,000 miles. Two Monday mornings in a row I had to bleed the air and prime it. The third weedend I changed it and havn't had any more problems.

hdmax, Ohioians must think alike. Made the bracket some time ago and had the filter on order. Then took some time to try an figure out what type of line and fittings i was going to use. I dont drive it much so i had plenty of time to read, watch, and install.

Can you post a parts list, and where you got everything?

Had the aluminum under my bench, got the filter (660R122)from Lube Specialist (Greg) $162.00. Bought the fuel line from local parts store (10' Russel twist loc fuel line $45.00 and Russel twist loc fittings $25.00) 2) 3/8 pipe to -8 flare and 2) -8 flare to 1/2" fuel line. If you want part numbers for fuel line and fittings let me know, i have them out in the shop.
