I am very new to dieseltrucks. Please be patient. I recently purchased the Edge with Attitude, installed it myself. When I first installed it, I noticed the EGT seem to respond to the throttle position; the more the throttle the higher the EGT, makes sense. But, now I have noticed when I am about 30-50 mph I step on the pedal and the EGT goes down before it goes up. It will be at approx. 600* I floor the truck and the EGT drops to 350 - 450* when I release the pedal the EGT goes up to 1200 - 1300*. Is this normal? If I slowly increase throttle the EGT corresponds with the throttle position. Thanks, this site is awesome.

I think your readings correspond to turbo lag.. if you gradually push on the pedal the temps will rise equally..,but if you stomp on it there is about a second or two before the turbo spools up which relates to that lower temp for that period, then spiking when boost is on. if you have a boost/vaccuum gauge you could see it a bit more clearly.

Well it will go down a little, because your boost pressure increases which cools EGTs. So that might be it, mine does the same thing. When you hold it to the floor for awhile do they go right up to your high numbers, cause egts should go up when the fuel catches up to the boost. I think your fine, if your only hitting 1300.
