I installed Predator on the 85 hp tune and the truck runs real strong, but the trans feels and shifts funny .aprox how long will it take for it to shift normal again ? will it ever shift like it did before the predator ? install has 2 hours on it .

This has been discussed several times in the Power & Performance topic area. Some trannys learn faster than others. Depends on driving habits. Some also drive it awhile, return to stock and install a different mod., then re-install mod. you want again. Some have some luck this way.

The more stop and go driving, the faster it learns, or at least that has been my experience. I have the v2.02 set on 65 hp and it shifts at least as good as stock

After two or three times, generally, you will see improvements right away, Allison has learned."

God, don't do that!!!

Allison Transmission Company says NOT to do that. Where Diablosport got that from is anybody's guess.

Who would you rather trust...the company that designed and built the transmission, or a company that makes handheld tuners...? :exactly:

i have done it with no problems, all it does is down shift as safe RPM's allows...not like it slams it into first gear with the tires skidding along and the engine turning 9k RPMs, so what's the big deal?...or is it another one of those deals like EGT's that everyone is afraid of the here say?

I ran mine on 100hp for a few days, and then switched to 85. After a total of driving for 3 days, it was almost 100%. Remember, Tow/Haul needs a separate learning time. Downshifts need to be learned too. Wish I had my Tech2 back to put the trans in fast learn mode.

I'll try to find it, but I know that someone posted on here an email or something from an Allison engineer that said that the Diablosport method of "fast learning" is crap, and does not work. The only way to re-set the fast learn is with a Tech II.

that's cool if you can find that info, but realy, mine seemed to be fine after a few days of 'normal" driving around town and some playing (it totaly shifted like ass the first few dozen shifts tho)

Getting better every time I drive it ,time will tell. also can I remove the speed limit with the Predator with the 85hp tune in place or do I have unload it and start over ?

That's the only other way for it to learn, a few days of stop and go driving. Shift cycles is the name of the game.

Just go to the "Modify Program" or "Modify Tune" or whatever it's called. You don't need to re-load the factory tune and then re do it. It should just take a few minutes to load the speed limiter modded tune over the exiting 85hp tune.

Also, once you change the speed limiter, it will be changed for all tunes (including the "stock" tune, but not the "factory" tune.)

I have found that if I start out on the lowest setting for a few days and then work my way up every few days it is an almost seamless learning curve.
