Looking for some feedback, on the Kelderman air suspension or any others, Looking to have more control over the ride quality, Love the truck but these wash board freeways out here, are a B*tch.

I have heard pro's and con's about the Velvet ride shackles, and aftermarket shocks while they seem to improve the performance don't really address this problem. Are they hard to install, any drawbacks, I do tow a travel trailer, and a 5th wheel from time to time.

Any comment would be appreciated.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Kelderman system is pretty expensive depending on which one you get. ~$900 for one and $2600 for the other. I just put Bilstein shocks on mine and found they really help alot. Have you tried this? OEM shocks were shot on mine. I was really surprised. I thought they would be OK but I was really wrong. They were nothing.

Another idea to consider if you have air lift for when loaded is to replace 3rd leaf spring in stack of 6 with a longer one. John Kennedy recommends this. A local shop that has done suspension for 51 yrs recommend also removing bottom thick leaf spring to remove the harshness. I would try Bilsteins first. Big difference!

I have a Kelderman - auto level control and all. No question that the ride is way better. The problem is, that there is a limit as to what pin weight it will hold (they told me in advance). I had to add air lift bags to handle mine. No more broken rivets in the trailer anymore, though. And the horses ride much better. And I don't get beat up as bad running empty. I actually drive the truck instead of my wife's Volvo V70.

I will add that Kelderman was a great company to deal with. Lots of help planning, and when I had a problem with some fittings, new ones arrived at the farm the next day at no charge.Edited by: Horse Trainer

http://www.airliftcompany.com has kits for 3/4 and 1 ton GM, Ford and Dodge trucks for around $2K. I have only browsed their web site, read the installation instructions, etc. Looks ok.

Got the information I requested in the mail, from Kelderman Looks nice, but Pricey, came with a VHS tape, of course have a DVD set-up now, going to try and find the VCR I put in the attic, amazing how fast technology becomes obsoletehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif, Still trying to figure out, since I have a 4X4 if I gotta go with the $2,600 unit, instead of the $899, that would be a deal killer. Guess I have to watch the Video, great can't find the remotehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
