Holds 10 qts. My guess is they put in 10 and charged you for 12.

But to be sure check the dipstick and see......

See how it checks in the morning. Once the oil settles down it might be way over full.

RUNNIN....you gave them 3 gallons of oil, didn't you? They just assumed they had to empty them all.....
There was a thread a while back where some people found they could put 11 quarts in their engines. If its not overly high, it might be ok. Don't you have a Fumoto? If you do, you could always drain out a couple quarts....

You bought that truck new and dont have a supplement? :wtf: Look in your "leather" folder, it's probably under one of the flaps, or in one of the pockets...

If the motor was at running temps.....15 min should be more than enough time for an accurate reading........

I would expect to see an overfull mark on the dipstick for starters):h I know that an overfull crankcase is hard on front and rear seals as well. I would guess that if the rotating assembly was under oil it would rob HP as well.....allthough i boubt if 2qts more than recommended would raise oil levels this high.

I run Mobil Delvac 1 in my truck. It only comes in 1 gallon(4 qt) containers. It doesnt have a viewing window with marks on the side either. The new ones do. Id normally use 2.5 gallons(10qt) but always had to eyeball 10qts...or half of the gallon container without measuring marks on the side. It always reads low (when cold) and I end up putting in closer to 11.5-12 qts. This time when changing my oil I was using the new delvac cans with the viewing window and measurement marks. I gave it 10 on the money, it read 2 dashes above the L on the stick...at running temp it read perfectly full. Does this mean that the oil level is correct or should it be at the H when cold too?

M1 Truck and SUV... little less Boron than Delvac, but 5-quart jugs for $20 at Wally World.

I have the digital dash and it reads the oil life in percentage. At what percentage should i change it and these trucks do hold 10 quarts right. just to be sure.

10 quarts with filter.
My first change was at 1800 miles, then again at 4800 when I switch to synthetic.
Now that I'm on synth with a Mobil-1 filter, I'll probably start changing when the DIC hits 20% or so... fuel filter every 10k (DIC counts down to 15k).
