I am doing a lift pump replacement and was wondering if any of those that have done this can tell me how much fuel can I expect out of the lines when I undo the connections? It looks pretty straight forward with just the two fuel line connections and the eletrical plug. But, crawling around underneath with your face practically right there I just wanted to take some measures to prevent taking a "bath" when swapping this out. By the way my connections look pretty nasty at the lift pump. Any chance of breaking something if there is a lot of corrosion? I have already sprayed each with some solvent to make things go easier. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

If you leave your fuel cap on a lot less comes out. I just separated my fuel line near the rear tire about 6 feet from where you are breaking into yours and I didn,t get more than a drop. Just put a small basin underneath and don't have your face right under the line and you will be fine.

Some have used a golf tee to block off the tank side. It will flow and flow.... trust me I know.... not gonna make any points with the Mrs. unless she likes fresh diesel la' fumes.
