I also posted this in the filter recal thread but I figured it would not get to many views there since everybody has read that already.

I just had my fuel filter recall done, dealer put the A filter on and dented the sh!t out of the filter and left fuel all over the top of the filter housing. Here's some pics, the truck has to go back because they had to order some parts. Should I make them put the new B filter on and complain about the way it was installed? Does the recal specify that it has to be the B filter or just a free change and it does not matter what fiter it is?

as far as everyone knows so far the B's are just longer(more media) and pretty much the same as the A's. I would however raise hell about the dented filter. It's probably not as critical as a dented oil filter, but nonetheless it doesn't need to be torqued so hard that it dents, demand a new one.

I would deffintly tell the service manager about the the mess. I had my rear axel seals replaced but they left oil all over the place. Probably GM doesn't allow enough time but they ought to be able to run a rag around. Service manager can then decide on how to handle it.

How does that filter recall work? I have already changed my filter once on my 2003 (15,000 miles, changed at like 8K) and about to change it again. If there is a recall and they will change it for free, I'll let them do it...
