My '03 DA is harsh when I do the first shift into drive on cold (around 10 degrees) mornings. I back down the driveway, then shift into drive, and it drops in pretty hard. Its fine the rest of the day. Anybody have any thoughts?

Sounds normal to me. Don't worry about it. Lately here in LosAngeles we have dipped into the low 40'shttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif and my truck shifts a little firm for a few blocks in the morning. If we had temps. like yours; i would call the devil and tell him to take my ass right now.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Hope Mack doesn't flog me for language on this post.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Thanks for the quick replies on this. I thought -18 F tonight was gonna be cold. Max Power, are you talking -40 F or C? Actually, I believe they are both the same at -40.

I know what Max Power is talking about. It was -42'C (-44'F) here yesterday morning. Talk about cold shifting! All I can say is thank you to synthetic fluids, block heaters & oil pan heaters!
Anyone out there running their DM in colder weather?Edited by: KevTech
