I am Trying to get a 6.5 with mechanical IP started, cranks ok, glow plug cycling ok, electric pump pushing fuel through filter, got fuel going to IP, but no fuel from return line while cranking?? Is this normal with air in the system? Fuel lines were open for head gasket replacement and engine not run in couple years. I checked the fuel solenoid on the IP and it is getting 12v and clicking, but don't know the best way to proceed from here. Any ideas? I read some posts about cranking the engine for hours and don't really want to go through that hassle if the IP is shot.

Fuel to the inlet of the injection pump, no fuel coming out of the return and apparently nothing coming out of the injector lines. Sounds like you might have a siezed head.
