I am new to this site and as a duramax owner and i bought a 2005 workers edition CC/SB and it has a POS system. I am upgrading and would like to have ideas or suggestions. thanks!!!!

As for your question, DB....I don't think you can upgrade to an OEM CD unit in a WorkTruck. Something to do with the base programming in the BCM in those models not recognizing upgrade radios. I could be wrong, so you should ask your dealer if they can program a CD unit into your BCM first.

You may have to go aftermarket.

I'm not sure what differentiates a work truck from a non-Ls or LT model? But, my truck is non-LS/LT model with vinyl seats and manual windows and only a Chevrolet badge on the rear 'C' pillar instead of LS or LT. In any event, I upgraded from the basis AM/FM radio to a LS model single CD player with tape player. Dealer charged me $45 to reprogram.
