I am looking at ordering a fully loaded Sierra 2500 CC, LB, 4X fully loaded minus the DVD and Onstar. My questin is what would you expect to pay? lets assume that there is only a $1,000 cash back for no dealer financing. If the MSRP is 49,000 What would the invoice be and what would one expect to pay to the dealer. Thanks

if sticker is 49,000$

1000$ cash back is 48K,

I bet they would take 42-43K.

lets say your a GOD at negotiating and got it for 39K.( basically employee pricing with 1K rebate.)

I say your still getting raped.

Raped? If you want to be raped, by a house in California, then you will know all about being raped. I would have rather bought 8 trucks with duramaxes, but they dont come with toilets or kitchens so that would be a real downer. Although, with no input there would be no output, dang that problem might have taken care of that problem. Dang it, I knew I miscalculated something...

I understand your problem with the housing market on California, with the median home price pushing 530K for a " regular house" that is beyond insane. However, by paying that amounts you are just making the problem worse. Plus you CHOOSE to live there, I wouldnt live in that hell hole if you paid me 500k a year in salary. I hope if falls in the ocean.:joke:

Seriously though, I buy assets from banks and we wont touch California mortgages, people have to stretch sooo far to even get a house to live in, that it is only a matter of time before the defaults start rolling in. What we really need is a good solid recession to get this irrational exuberance out of the market.

sorry we hijacked your thread, but I did give you my answer on the first post:rolleyes:

First to answer the original question:
Price it today on gmbuypower.com to get final
msrp, then click on employee price to get that.
Add (est) $350 for the LBZ over the LLY option.
Add $2000 to go from employee (GMS) to GM Supplier
discount. That is your target price, either negotiated
yourself, or using an actual supplier discount code.

As for CA, yes it is true, we can't get Roof Marker lights
on 2500HD's. But is that enough to hate our state?
We don't need them because it never gets hot, never cold,
and never too dark to need lights. I remember one winter
got into the 30's and all the stores got sold out of lightweight
jackets because of the freakish cold weather. :offtopic:

I ended up paying $42k for my loaded 06 2500HD with onstar and all the other frills minus dvd. Then they gave me $20k for my 03 trade in gasser 1500

I bought my 06 4x4 2500 loaded to the gills with onstar minus the dvd option for $40,062 . The sticker was 49,150. I hear everyone grumbling about the 06 LLY vs the 06.5 LBZ but lemme tell ya, no dealer is going to take nearly ten thousand dollars off a duramax after the employee pricing is over because the demand is there for the vehicle. If you're lucky, they'll drop off a couple of thousand dollars, because it's the basic law of supply and demand. I am really happy with my deal and my incredible mileage!

If it is true that the demand is there (when employee discounts are stopped) it sounds like GM didn't make a very bright decision, did they?

As a consumer, why would anyone buy a vehicle that wasn't at employee pricing or better?

Exactly, all the manufactures have laid down their poker hand and we all can bargain from there. They can ask all they want however it is the consumer that has the money and buying power.

Has anyone heard of anyone buying an LBZ for a better price than the Employee Discount? Is that possible? Thanks.

Just an update..Median house price in Santa Clara county hit $714K. Nuts eh?

But I do not care... It is what it is. But you cannot beat this states weather. Motor vehicles last forever as they never rust. You can wash your car about once a month and it still looks clean. The only problem I have with the state is the peoples excessive behavior. I know I may get flamed on here but WTF good is a HUMMER???. What a waste of $50K...What purpose does it have. They are Junk, have been, always will be. But people buy them like hot cakes then complain about their $700 a month gas bill....:muahaha:

And your right..a good recession here would slow it down, But it will never happen as long as financial institutions will loan just about anybody money. and remember they will never ever go down in price, just correct and slow appreciation. LTV rules are just about out the window around here.

4x4 fully loaded 2500HD (no DVD), fleet manager quoted $43k.
Ended up with the Chebby... comparable price before adding the shell, Lojack, extended warranty, tax, license, etc...
My total OTD was about $53k.

California sucks.

Hey all, I've been lurking in the shadows, and been waitin' to order my 2006 lbz and located a great, so far, no BS dealer in the Phoenix AZ area. I don't have any connection to these folks, just wanted to give a straight shootin' dealer kudo's for a no BS deal (2006 lbz crew long bed 4X4 D/A with a few minor extras, before tax/license just below 43,000).

Call Chapman Motors Internet Department, ask for Rustin Reynolds(480-797-3917, tell him Larry T in Flagstaff said he's alright,,for a car salesman,,ha ha:)

If your talking about employee discounting I can tell you on a $49,000 truck between the employee discount and rebate you'll see the invoice at or near $40,000 -

I know this because I am currently going through this on a truck with a sticker of $48,690 - after all is said and done the price will be $40,000...

I don't think employee pricing will work on the LBZ. When I bought mine, it was not available on any '06 (I bought on Saturday the 20th, they announced it was good on the '06 on Tuesday), but it was my understanding that employee pricing is good on '06's only in dealer stock until the end of September.

F.Y.I. It is in dealer stock as soon as the dealer gets the invoice. We have 1 now that is on its way home & we have given the vin# to the dealer. He will have the invoice this week even though the truck may not be on the "Property" till after 9/30. We have got a couple that way. Dealer choice even then! Howard

Tell the dealer that you want some or all of the "holdback". This is the amount on the invoice that the dealer holds back in lieu of expected rebates based on volume sales history. They don't like to get into this until late in the year, butt some will to make the sale. This would amount to about $2,000 on a 4WD DMAX :)
