Went to install a High Idle on a fire truck(3500)....got the ECM and noticed there was already a high installed.....plug in port 71. Anyway.....how would the high idle work if there is no CC and no PTO?

Royalities.....no problem, were do I mail the cash to T.

This fire truck that I was helping my friend with already had pin B-71 installed. And who ever did did a real crAApy job, the plastic cover was not snapped in place and the ECM also was not in place correctly....in fact it was moving around in the holder. Nexted the gray plastic cover that fits over the wires was also not installed with all six clips in place.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif I really hope is was not a GM certified tech doing this work.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif I am out there doing it for my friends for a free lunch and doing a better job than the $70hr guys. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

But for what ever reason this pins is installed and there is no CC or switch or anything in the cab of the truck. I just can not figure it out. I told the guy at the fire house to look at there records and see what was done, were and why.

I don't want to offend anyone here but quite often I see very poor electrical word done by GM certified mechanics. Unfortunaltly a lot of mechanics seem to have a hard time with electrical and electronics. It is one of those things that not everyone can grasp. Of course with electrical every day and pride myself in my work so I am probably over critical.
