PPE is coming out with a boost controller for us LLY guys. I got to try the prototype for this boost controller a while back. This boost controller is a electronic chip that will let you change your boost on the Fly while driving with a turn of a knob!! :ro) With the Enforcer + PPE stack i was able to clear all the smoke at 40 PSI of boost. Of course as most of you know by now we did see the highest Horsepower rating at around 30 pounds of boost. the advantages of driving with the adjustment higher then 30psi @ WOT is for towing and driving around town at partial throttle for better throttle response and less smoke. It also has a race mode for the racers. with a flip of a switch fueling will come in sooner, as well as increasing your boost to the level you selected. This boost controller did reduce EGT's, i however do now remember exactly how much(i myself didn’t have much time with it). I really loved this because it makes any high level smoke chip 100% streetable. lower EGT's and you don’t have to worry about smoking people out when passing someone with a tuner on Kill. At highway speeds throttle response got allot better! you can feel the power kick in. I adjusted the knob all the way down. leaving stock boost. floored it, and turned it up, boost kicks in. and its feels like putting a 50 shot of nitrous!!! Great thing about it is someone tailgates you, you can just turn the knob down and still smoke them out!:cool2:
Here is the good news. I heard that the boards are coming in on Monday!!
I would like to apologize for any misspelling or sentences that might now make perfect sense. I am writing this up quickly and for the people who have met me i am Mexican and do not have the best English vocabulary out there. and i dont have much time. Today is my birthday and i have to go have some fun!

$329. We'll see how everything works out when the dust settles but it looks like Fingers BS will be much more bang for the buck.
Hopefully it is not just a piece of wire and a terminal end like their $299 high idle option that would cost you $1 to do if your sourced the part(s) yourself.
I know that is not the case in the is case. Still makes you wonder what you are actually getting for you money.

One more thing. We can't get a controlled 40psi without changing the boost sensor so does this include a new boost sensor?

I saw 40PSI on my truck. Im sure it will vary from truck to truck. it was pre-intercooler with OEM boost sensor that was relocated for easy acess(sp?) . and this is a microprocessor electronic chip, not just resistors and etc. I dont think it matters that it can go that high, if we end up losing power anyways witht he stock turbo. I like the fact its adjustable and that you can bring in fuel sooner for racing.

Would this Boost controller have to be used in conjunction with other PPE products? Or is it totally separate of chips/tuners?? How much horsepower do we lose going to 40 PSI? Is it just because our VVT's go way downhill in terms of efficency over ~30 PSI? Or some other reason? Seems pretty interesting, cant wait for it to come out.

I heard that over 30 PSI there is too much backpressure. therefore we lose horsepower. You do not need to have any other PPE products to use this boost controller. you can use it with any tuner/chip.

Does it just plug into the MAP sensor? Anything else involved?

How come our VVT's have this problem...usually more boost = more hp!!

YEP, you disconect your boost/MAP sensor and plug this in between the sensor and stock conector. its a @#$% getting to it! Then you can mount the race switch and Knob in the cab. i have not seen the final product yet. But i know thats how it is going to be. i beleive they are using the Duramaximizer Knob.
