I did some searching on thewb about this ecm after I read some post on efi live about it never being able to be tuned. I found a few companies oversea's tuning them. But not for the duramax. ^^^ I believe the newest BMW's are using the same ECM... and the BMW tuners are tuning them...

The ECM can be tuned but with EFILive they will only do it if they can read out the ECM tune. The ability to read it out has something missing to do that. It is the way EFILive will do it and stay as legal as it can be. That is what I understand from the post. I think one can open it up and enable it to be read but i do not think EFILive will go that route.

Do you think it would be possible for EFI tuners like duramaxtuner or others to tune this ECM with the current EFI software? Or would a whole new software have to be created for it?

Efilive does not have anything out to tune the newer ecms so duramaxtuner or any other tuner using EFILive will not be able to tune them. If something else comes out then they may try to use it.
