Hey,

Thought I'd see if there is any muscle car guys out there that have experience with running different brands of carburetors. I've got a 1968 Dodge Charger that has a big block 383 that has been rebuilt with a mild cam, factory 10:1 compression and factory intake and exhaust manifolds that have been jet hot coated. Cam is a Comp 270/470

I recently put an Edelbrock 750 carb to replace the factory carter 625 and the car has ran like crap ever since. It has a horrible bog/stumble off idle and does not run and pull like it should. I know it is the carb because it happened as soon as I swapped it with the factory carter and the car ran fine with the Carter.

I want to swap the edelbrock for something such as a Quickfuel, Proform, or Holley 750 possibly double pumper.

Any experience on which carb is best? I've tried messing with the edelbrock's accelerator pump and swapping out metering rods/springs and after talking to quite a few people that have the same problems with their edelbrocks I'm done messing with it and want a new carb.

Thanks!
