A buddy has a F-250 p-stroke 2003 4X4 he would like to know how big of tires he can run without lifting or modifying. What makes and models of tires to look into for decent money. 315-75 16 is on a buddies truck and that gave him the idea. Brent

I have an 03 Excursion with 33x12.50x20 Toyo M/T's... amd I did not have to lift, normally the 4x4 F-series come with a higher lift from factory compared to the Excursions.

you can run as big as 315's in the back, but they wont clear when you turn up front, 285's max, not to mention your mileage will be better with smaller tires and performance to

http://www.ntwonline.com/clearpixel.gifhttp://www.ntwonline.com/clearpixel.gif33 x 12.5 are as big as you can go without lift. 3" lift will accomodate 35" tires. Natltire dot [om has a fitment guide you can look at.

I have an 01 with summit 305 mud terrains, they don't scrub at all. 315's scrub when you turn. The 305's look really good but are loud riding down the road.

and it all depends to on how wide you want the tire. you gotta remember a 33x12.50 is way way way wider than a 285/70/r16 tire, now you can go skinnier with your tire and maybe make a 295 or 305 fit, but then you run into problems with noise while running down the road. For maximum performance i would stick with something like a 285/75/r-whatever size rim, they will look good, give you a nice ride as well as performance. I personally love bfg ko's ( all-terrain series), they grab great, and are an awesome riding tire, with good wear. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I worked at tires plus for three years before i graduated from high school in 02. IF you have any question about tires I can answer it, if not I can for sure point you in the right direction on how to have it answered.

and another reason i say a 285 is because while working at tires plus we had numerous F-series trucks in, and a 285 is the biggest size that would fit in the front, maybe by raising the front end you can ake 315's fit, but you will lose 2-3 mpg by running them, and they are noisy, and the dont offer as nice of a ride, so it's another one of them personal preference things.
