I have 03 w5500 with 4.2L (126k). Last winter I did not experience this. Here are few symptoms:
When parked overnight and temp 30 or below it takes long time to start. When finally does start I get big cloud of smoke out of exhaust.
Couple weeks ago temp reached to single digits. I had truck parked on my driveway so I can plug engine warmer in. Truck acted same way as above, when last year when I had it plugged in once it started right up like it was summer.
After truck starts it does not idle at the low RPM till reaches certain temp, it idles at normal operating RPM`s (which I am not happy about).
After driving truck for a bit and parking it till cools of it starts and goes to normal low RPM first till reaches temp and kicks to normal RPM`s.
Can somebody please point me right direction. I am new to diesel engines. I do regular maintenance on the truck. Change oil every 5K, fuel filter every 10k-15k.
Any help is very much appreciated
