Supposedly for the envoy (and it's chevy cousin).
A GM Tech told me today that they have some mules running around with 'em as we speak.
Anyone.....

Man you're getting my hopes up! If it's true, I'll be the first in line! A Chevy Trailblazer diesel would be perfect for my wife who drives 2,000 miles a month just commuting to/from work. Better yet a VW Jetta TDI diesel but the TB would be a lot safer vehicle for the interstate she drives on every weekday at rush hour.

Look for one in a half ton long before anything is thought of with the TB. Stuff I have read indicate a 6 cylinder Isuzu baby Dmax. Time will tell. Hopefuly the new halfies with be built with the new 6 cyl in mind so we won't have to hear for 10 years that it won't work because the transmission is too big...

They have been running the V6 duramax for a couple years now. I was able to drive one awhile back and it ran pretty nice. It looks like a current engine , just missing the rear two cylinders. The one I drove was in a pickup at GM. Not sure when it will be released or what it will come in.

It would be great for a 1/2 ton or even a 3/4 ton as an option. I wouldn't mine being able to get a v-6 diesel with a 5 speed auto in say a 1500 suburban or tahoe. Milage and towing, what could be better. Oh yeah the mack daddy DURAMAX/ALLISON at 400HP in a Suburban:ro) .

I think if it was to come out in 07 we would be hearing more whispers about it, but I might go for one.

That is a 7.8L that is used in bigger trucks. That will never see a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton because it probably weighs twice what our motor does.

Definatly look to the carribean for things to come. Seems they get all the neat stuff LONG before they are approved to be imported to the USA. I remember seeing a Diesel outboard motor on a boat down there. As far as I know they are still not approved for import here. Just imagine counter rotating D-Maxes on the back of fishing boat!

If i had to say anything id say the truck had the dimensions of a dakota, it was quadcab and had running boards and big tires. had big 3.0 DURAMAX stickers on the side of each bed and an IZUSU grille.
