my brother has 04 sierra i made sure he got the good stuff 5.3 posi 4.10 gear and what not but now his buisness got going better and sinc i m a speed freak he said i could sum stuff to iti was thinking of a good cold air intake a computer tune i was going to get a handheld opne but from reading on here and everyone says to get a tune???? what one? and jsut changing the muffler to a freere flowing one since most of the cat back on these trucks only pick up like 7 horse according to gm high tech performance magazine

Go to performancetrucks.net, do a search there for mods. You will find more ideas than you can read in 2 weeks.

Not tryin to stir up trouble but, I got a 6.0 with the same exact set up as my dads truck with an 8.1 and i can beat him racing either from a stop or from a roll. The 8.1s really arent that fast and the 5.3s are pretty quick too. Granted i think the 8.1s pull a little better but as far as speed and fuel mileage, the 6.0s are better.:muahaha: IMHO

I used to have a 00' ext cab shorty 4x4 with the 5.3 and I loved it (not as much as my diesel of course!). It had the 3.73 rear and ran 16.4 with just exhaust. Then i put on an intake, Hypertech and a tb spacer and it ran a best of 15.80 @ 88.xx mph.
BTW.......I really don't think the spacer did much of anything other than whistle like hell. But anyway there is my .02 for some ideas.

my dads 1998 sieerra vortec 350 gets blown away by this truck already but it can never be too fast
