Your past IP warranty.
As said, welcome aboard. Click below in my signature line for the top three "newbie" threads.
There are many reasons why it may not start. Click on the diagnostic check list below. Cut and past to this thread with the answers to each line item. From there, we can more accurately diagnose what's up. It saves about 20 posts of asking, "do this, check that..." and making 14 trips back and forth from computer to truck. Keeps the grease off the keyboard too... ;)

thanks for the info. i've checked out the lift pump & have plenty of fuel. the filter has approx. 5k on it the kn air filter has 5k since cleaning. there are no codes on the computer thats what has everybody baffled . i had it towed to the diesel shop this afternoon. i think it's something i could fix but i need my truck like yesterday. it's a 2500hd. i already found out about the warranty just my luck. the diesel mechanic thinks it may be something else besides the ip ihope he's right from the prices i've heard to make the repair.i should know more tomorrow & i'll keep you posted. thanks for the reply.

No codes... *shouldn't* be the pump. Maybe the PMD or something simple. There were issues with the ignition switch somewhere along the way. (no not the key switch either)

I'd bet on the PMD. But thats just me. Very simple repair if it is that if you remote mount it like it should be. And if it wasn't the PMD you would still have done an invaluable upgrade to your trucks health.

Sounds like there is hope in the future, at least with a "diesel" mechanic. You'd be surprised that how many dealerships don't have a real diesel mechanic and troubleshoot by replacing the injection pump first.

yea i called the local chey dealer they don't work on them they send them out . the only thing i heard about the pmd is that it could be the fix but it could also only last a couple of weeks. if thats the case i'd rather bite the bullet & get the pump fixed once & for all. checked out the fuel sensing eye by diconnecting the harness & that wasn't it either. hopefully i'll find out today. by the way i see you live in del. i'm in pa just north of phila & i'm a pipefitter i work at a mager pharmaceutical co. thanks again for the info

If it is the original injection pump and you have 142k on it, you probably are on borrowed time with it - they seem to last about 100k. However, I don't think that's the cause of your no-start problem. They usually start to go with some warning, usually poor running/stalling/stumbling/missing, etc. and they usually throw an error code to the computer with a CEL.
The injection pump warranty is only good for 120k miles, so you're out of warranty anyway.
I agree with the others, I would bet its the PMD, especially since the LP is working.

well just got the word. looks like i'm biting the bullet & putting a new ip in. he came up with 2 codes didn't give me the code #'s but said they were related to timing and the fuel sensor he was able to clear 1 of the codes but not the other i'm suspecting the fuel sensor since it's internal to the pump. thanks again for all the info. after i get past the shock of paying for this repair i've got some questions on boosting power since i use the truck to pull a 32' fifthwheel waying in at 10k
