Help...
I have a 2004 C5500 and my friend has a 2005 C4500. Both of us have experienced loss of power while on the road with the only indicator light being the RPM engine light. After being towed in, the computer resets and the dealer cannot find anything wrong. Anyone have a clue????

My truck did this pulling trailer on Rt 81 going 70 mph. Just lost power had to limp off the side of the road doing 30 mph while everyone else was going 70. Turns out to be the fuel filter. I can not remember the code, but I carry a scan tool with me. That was the only way I got home. Would reset the computor and drive 30 to 40 miles and it would pop on again and we would loose power pull off the road ,reset the computor and off we would go again. Changed fuel filter and no more problem.

Thanks, I will keep my eye on this. How often do you recommend changing the filter? My mechanich says 10k-15k miles, however, I am in the dirt a lot as I pull horses.

The book says every 15k, mine clogged at 7k. Have a lift pump put on and you can go 15 k no problem.
