As I discuss my future truck purchase with the NuckleHeads in my crew I keep hearing these 2 rumors that I am having trouble believing.
I and they know that the 2500 is identical whether you buy from either Chevy or GMC.
#1
Buy a chevy instead of a GMC because the parts for a GMC are more expensive than for the Chevy.
#2
The frame is thicker metal on the GMC.
Are either of these true?
I can't really believe they are.

Actually my GMC dealer runs a lower book than my Chevy dealer does. Parts (Chevy or GMC) are based on which book a dealer runs. They can sell at MSRP, or +10%, +20%, -10% or -20% IIRC.
Frame is the same.
Buy whichever you like. Prices at first appear to be higher on the GMC, but their feature list doesn't match. Once you match all the features, the price comes out the same.

Thanks, McRat.
That's kinda what I thought.
Depends on the dealer.

I'm a bigger fan of the GMC. More creature comforts and better styling. That's just my two cents!
