: Stop and Take Notice-Pay it Forward
killerbee 09-12-2005, 04:50 PM That may sound off topic, but it is related to the highly heated LLY fan and warm running issues.
Many of you will know who I am talking about. While there are those that contribute in one way or another, not everyone takes action. While the problems surrounding getting cooling products got more and more complicated, someone stepped in to make it a non-issue. I am very moved that anyone would do this, but he came forward and volunteered to pay the nominal limited vendor fee without hesitation. He probably has forgotten more about these vehicles, than I have absorbed, yet there is never a hint of ego. Expecting nothing in return, there is not a better example of human decency here.
Thank You MAX POWER
briano 09-12-2005, 05:10 PM Thanks MAX.. and thanks killerbee for all the info on the O/H stuff.
Mackin 09-12-2005, 05:25 PM I believe Tony (Maxpower) has great respect from many members here and has always stepped up to offer his support and help when possible. I myself am grateful for what he brings here in free support.
I also know (pretty sure) he is aware what it takes to keep a message board running.Tony knows,I would assume, that implementing policy even tho at times may seem unfair but have to be implemented and enforced to have harmony and fairness to everyone.
Killerbee, I hope that your limited vendor status helps you bring your ideas forward to assist our audience and you can now be free to solicit to support your time involved. You deserve it
Thanks Killerbee and Max Power for supporting this community with it's wealth of support and knowledge! With out you it wouldn't be possible
I for one am glad this came to amicable ending
Cheers :Handshake
tmg115 09-12-2005, 07:31 PM i dont own a lly or even have a overheating problem, but i think it is great how you all came up with a sloution to the problem. you all put a lot of hard work into it and you guysshould be proud and rewarded for your hard work.
Now on the subject on whether you should pay a vender fee or not, i am going to stay out of that can of worms cause i know i will piss some one off. and i dont want it to be the wrong guy.
Max Power 09-12-2005, 08:33 PM Thanks for the kind words. I strongly believe that project is great for LLY owners and great for the site. I would have loved to contribute my time and effort to this project but it moved too fast for me and I was too busy to dedicate much time to it. I guess this is my way to contribute to the project.
I don't disagree with this sites polices as I understand completely where they are coming from. Sometimes it's hard to make all parties happy and I didn't want to see the site torn apart over a few dollars. I understand both sides and neither is wrong IMO. It's just one of those things where you need to agree to disagree and move on. Everyone is happy and we can move forward with the project.
killerbee keep up the good work. I hope to find time to scrounge up all the materials needed to fix up my truck shortly. I find the most difficult part of a project like this is gathering the materials. I would rather just pay someone for a kit. I love working on my truck but I am 100 miles from a major center so its very difficult to round up parts. I'll let you know how it works out when I find some time. Thanks again for all the time and effort you and the others dedicated to this.
killerbee 09-12-2005, 08:46 PM e-mail me your address Tony.

Now hold up a sec, are we talkin shipping Max Power or the kit? What if Max is a big burly 300lb'er. Shipping on that round trip could get pricey!
.
8shot 09-12-2005, 09:40 PM Opps that could be costly
RickDLance 09-12-2005, 09:44 PM Count me in also!! 300 pounds wouldn't be that bad. :)
Max Power 09-12-2005, 09:55 PM You guys are too kind. I was not really in much of a hurry to do the mod in first place because I never really had a overheating problem. I am actually very intrigued by the claims and I am more interested in the possible performance (fuel mileage and possibly hp?) gains then anything. It will be 8 or 9 months before I see warm enough temperatures to test the cooling abilities. Regardless, I do appreciate all of you offering to help out in the shipping. I didn't think twice about paying for the vendor status because I knew someone would do the same for me if I was on that side of the fence. This proves it. You guys are great.
I am not quite 300lbs but I am over 200!
Max Power 09-12-2005, 10:03 PM Since you guys are feeling so generous, I could really use an Aurora 5000 :D :D
8shot 09-12-2005, 10:43 PM I heard they don't work, in the GREAT WHITE NORTH.
Max Power 09-12-2005, 10:46 PM Well how about Nitrous or propane or a new wheels or a Line X liner or a DVD nav system or a co-pilot or ......... :D So many wants...
8shot 09-12-2005, 10:54 PM We might need a few thousand more members to chip in.

killerbee 10-27-2005, 07:47 AM Thank you sir.
ABLDmax 10-28-2005, 06:41 PM New member and first DMAX. I have and 05 LLY with 2500 Miles . No problems yet but would be interested in information on how to purchase the kit or on information on where to purchase the materials for the radiator and transcooler mods. I think it would be beneficial to run these mods even in the absence of overheating problems. Isn't cooler operating temps better in the summer months anyways? I think this is the greatest Duramax site out there. There are some real intelligent individuals posting on this site. Thanks for all the info and fixes. :)
