Ok, so my birfday is coming up pretty soon, and I want some gauges. What boost gauge should I get for an LLY with a Predator, MBRP straight exhaust, and probably a Fingers boost stick when they're available?
What are you guys running with predators, as far as boost? Will a 30 be enough, or should I step up to the 60psi??
Thanks, Jeff

On an LB7 with a stcok charger I would say a 35 or a 40 would be perfect. LLY duno what would be perfect but the LLY's swing over 30 with a strong programer IIRC so I'd opt for the 60.
You getting click happy there Jeff ;) :p:

Thanks for blowing those extra posts away. I dunno WTF was wrong with my keyboard? Stupid Caterpillar computers -:t
I've seen in the mid 30s (spikes) with the Tech II, but who knows. Maybe a 60 psi would be a safe bet, because who knows what's gonna happen when this year's bonus check comes...:exactly:

There are enough boost related mods coming down the pike that I would opt for the 60 PSI gage. Uless you like seeing the needle pegged.. :)

My 40 does very well. 30 is a bit small depending on how hard you push it...

Thanks guys!
Kennedy, can you PM me a price for one of those 40 PSI gauges, and a matching pyro, along with a pillar mount for a Bose truck.
Thanks!

I'm running the Predator with MBRP and I have not come close to pegging the 30 psi. Started out with 60, not good. Can't tell what's going on. 35 might be a good option unless you are done upgrading:eek: .Ya right!

PM sent.
Just FYI, 30 psi will handle most any non race/non beefed transmission. I typically use the 30 psi unit in my kits (listed on my site under Instrumentation) but can just as easily add a 40 psi unit. I don't see the LLY turbo as being comfortable too much above 30 psi though unless that changes with addition of big fueling.

Aren't these Garrett turbos? I know the PSD Garretts did not last too long over 25 LBS boost. Over at ford site, people were trashing them left and right. That is why everyone went to aftermarket "ball bearing" type turbos. Are the Chevy turbos different?? Is anyone having any problems with long term reliability going over 25 LBS?? I was getting so good at pulling off my Powerstroke's turbo, I could have it off the truck and on the bench in under 45 minutes.
