I don't think this is normal http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif I took some pictures in real time (across about 4 seconds) of what happens on my 2002 2500HD when I grab the input shaft (of the steering box) and push upward (not into the gearbox) on the shaft towards the hood. I think that this is BEYOND a loose bearing. There is so much axial play in the shaft that I can make the seal leak at will (see pictures). Funny thing is that the seal doesn't seem to leak under normal driving conditions. The second item is the hydroboost unit. It is "wet" around the back portion of it and is dripping along the firewall and down onto the inner fender. Is this something that is repariable, or do they just replace the entire hydorboost unit?? Are their any TSB's on these two problems that I could take with me to the dealershiip ?? Truck has 30K miles on it.
