Had an intermintent delay to start for a month or so. Had several "stalls while warm" incidents late last week. Friday, the SES flashed at me.

Code 35 - Injection Pulse Width Error - Time Short

Plan to order remote PMD today, should have done it awhile ago anyway. Anyone think it is the pump as well?

Anyway, no worries, I'll get it figured out/fixed; it is a 10 year old truck afterall, these things will happen.

Here's the list:
1.Lift pump test (showthread.php?t=39350)- Pass
2.Service Engine Light - off
3.Model year - 1995
3a. Odometer reading - 145,000 miles
3b. Miles on major engine components if been replaced - approx 90K miles on PMD/IP
4.Do you have any engine codes? Yes
5.If you do have engine codes - what are they - Code 35 only
6.Air Filter condition - freshly cleaned and oiled
7.Fuel filter condition - New
8.Condition of Battery terminal connections - Passenger Side + pretty corroded, cleaned and reinstalled
8A.Known condition and age of the batteries. - Good 1 y/o red tops
9.Upon cold start, does the radiator hose get hard quickly? no
10.Upon cold start, do you have excessive white smoke? - Little white smoke, new GPs on workbench
11.Do you have excessive cranking time before the engine starts? - No
12.Have you used the block heater, and does this effect engine starting? N/A
13.During hard acceleration, do you have excessive black smoke? No
14.Do you have any unusual exhaust smoke issues? No
15.Turbo check out (showthread.php?t=39368)- pass
16.Do you have an EGR on the engine? (An F or an S engine code) - Yes

MiniSub, I will be curious to see how this works out. When my truck wouldn't start last year after months of intermittent stalling, I took it to the dealer and they said the IP was bad based on the same error ( I didn't have a ses code but they tested the pump itself) you are getting iirc. This was before I was so well educated by the great guys and gals here. I'll bet now that I had a PMD issue. Everything worked out as they replaced the IP and PMD under warranty but I am still curious to see if it is just the PMD.

I'm *thinking* maybe PMD on this one. May re-torque the transistor nuts possibly.

Same symptoms as when my PMD went south, replaced at 153,000 currently at 169,000 and still goin.

Thought I could get thru the intermitent stalling until new remote FSD got here Thurs. Figured I'd do the full monty of Injectors, GPs and new FSD this weekend. :ro)

Got towed home this afternoon after running out for lunch. :mad:

Oh well, just another $100 into the project.

Hope this will do it, but I got a bad feeling I'm still going to be seeing that code 35 on Sunday and be ordering up a new IP come Mon.

Lift pump seems fine, but I'll probably just replace that too this weekend to basically have a fresh FI system, we'll see...

I am also planning to pull the turbo, pass. side inner fender, as well as the upper and lower intake manifolds (putting in an F manifold gasket) as part of the process.

Last fall, tires and complete brake job. This spring, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm and ball joints. Last month, new AC compressor. This month, well that's been said.

Those Dmax injectors are looking more and more reasonable all the time. :lol:
